Project Description

This fire station is a 64’W x 90’L x 14’H all-steel Star Building with a 4/12 roof pitch. The 10″ straight leg columns with 5/8″ thick flanges are each anchored to the concrete with four 3/4″ diameter anchor bolts embedded 30″ into the concrete. The columns on the overhead door side of the building were designed accordingly so there would be no obstructions in the way of the fire crew members getting to the trucks. The portal brace wind bracing was designed in the bay with the two 10’x10′ door openings. X bracing could not work on the building due to the seven overhead doors on one side.
